The UK aims to switch to electric cars, with new petrol and diesel cars sales banned from 2030, and with this in mind, the Prime Minister announced electric vehicle charging points will be legally required in new build homes from next year, including new-build workplaces, supermarkets and buildings undergoing major renovations.

In other EV news, the Transport Secretary has announced to avoid putting the electricity grid under stress at times of peak demand, all home charge points installed after 30 May 2022, will need to be connected to the internet to allow them to be switched off during peak times.
